Sydney world's 3rd priciest

Sydney has been ranked the world's third most unaffordable major property market in the latest annual Demographia International Housing Survey. There was only one surprise among the otherwise predictable results, I write.

A two-level penthouse on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast has set a new Caloundra apartment price record. It's located in the waterfront Anchorage building on Maloja Avenue, the millionaires’ row of Caloundra.

However, Caloundra can't quite compete with New York, where a penthouse has officially settled at US$100.5 million.

In Melbourne, rental yields remain low, writes CoreLogic RP Data's Robert Larocca.

Western Bulldogs president Peter Gordon and his wife Kerri have listed their Portsea retreat with $4 million hopes.
