The building was designed by famous French architect Joseph Gire as commissioned by the Guinle family, one of the most important and wealthiest families in the history of Brazil. This elevated palace is full of elegance and glamor, having hosted receptions for Presidents of the Brazilian Republic, royal families and is currently the home of another important family in Rio de Janeiro.
The architectural style has not been altered since it was built, maintaining a unique, eclectic style. This home uses the best materials brought from Europe such as pink, spanish green, and verona marble, wooden floors made akin to the Palace of Versailles, and ceilings with gold trims that measure over than 5 meters high.
The palace has an elegant entrance that connects to a wonderful living room, dining hall, a library, a gallery, and a ballroom. It also has beautiful limestone balconies around the mansion overlooking a winter garden with a Carrara fountain brought from Italy. The walls of this home are all inlaid with detailings that harkens back to Greek architecture.
One can enter the bedrooms by going up a marble staircase in classic, European palace fashion; though you may also use a built-in elevator. There are five spacious bedrooms; four of which are suites and the fifth a master bedroom. The master bedroom is quite spacious with a large walk-in closet and great seaside view, as with all rooms in this penthouse. The terrace and garden is home to an amazing view along with an outdoor living and dining area. This outdoor section includes a swimming pool and large patio with fruit trees, a pub, a barbecue area and even saunas.
