Just under the terrace, is a separate sunken, living space, which boasts two separate dining areas where daytime lunches, and breakfast is served in a more informal setting, allowing poolside visitors to stay in their wet clothes and grab a quick meal. As was found in our visit, there is no bad seat in the house as even sitting with your back to the view was no match for the owner’s vision as an expanded horizontal mirror placed at eye level, provides a stunning reflection of the ocean as if it were framed just for you. There is also a wet bar just off this space, and a large storage space for pool rafts, equipment and tools. This space is further enhanced with a cascading waterfall that flows from the reflecting pool on the upper level, and it’s receptive pool, is the birthplace of the postcard infinity edge pool that meanders down the terrace and opens up into one of the most impressive pools in Faro Escondido. The pool is crowned with a semi circle of columns on the left left side, which is covered with an ivy canopy, creating a shady corner of the pool. Much like the mirror behind the table, the builders created bar seating on the infinity edge of the pool, facing the pool so that someone outside the pool, could interact (and comfortable with their feet on the footrest) with those in the pool for an afternoon cocktail, or morning Mimosa….no details were left out in the design and use of this magical home. Of course the views of the ocean and coastline are the crown jewel, however, what really frames the property is the lush rainforest reserve which sits to the left of the view point, which brings in shade, a cooler mountain breeze and extreme privacy for the owners and guests. Along this ridge and under the canopy cover, there is an outdoor shower perfect for the pool goers, as well as a very private finger ridge ideal for an afternoon nap, glass (or two) of wine, or an award winning spot to read your next book.

Oh yes, back to the house….back inside the living area, you head past the dining room into the kitchen. The kitchen was designed for staff and service as a workhorse kitchen, with a casual breakfast nook, but multiple pantries for easy and ample storage for food, plates and cutlery. Speaking of service, the home, which is really built and designed for entertaining, includes a full service, laundry and bunk quarters just behind the kitchen which can also be accessed directly from the parking area, and if a new buyer was interested, current staff would be interested in discussing continuing with new owners….
