Jorge Letelier, of the Manhattan-based, award-winning, and internationally renowned design firm Letelier & Rock Design, conceived, designed, and furnished 27 Calle Cartagena. The design concept of the house was based on 18th-century Spanish Colonial architecture.

Blending history with the thoroughly modern, the home is equipped with a Leviton smart system, Lutron lighting, an automatic glass door for easy circulation from the patio to the kitchen, and ultra-thin 65 smart TVs.

Spanish Colonial Architecture
Own a piece of heritage and history at 27 Calle Cartagena, an inimitable work of art that captures beauty and embodies luxury in a way both contemporary and transportive, ushering the grandeur of old into your modern lifestyle.

Built in the style of 18th-Century Spanish Colonial mansions, 27 Calle Cartagena was meticulously and painstakingly completed over three years by world-class craftsmen paying attention to small-but-mighty details:

· The architectural language of a Spanish Colonial revival home, with exposed wood beams, textured white walls, and a red-tiled roof;
· Repurposed 18th-Century flooring and other architectural details, rescued from an 18th-Century Guatemalan church;
· Exclusive use of ceramic tiling imported from Portugal and Italy;
· The finest Coralina stone imported from the Dominican Republic; and
· A large collection of Pre-Colombian, South American, and Meso-American artwork and antiques to heighten the home’s history and authenticity.

18th Century Artifacts, Art + Antiques (H2 header)
To achieve a rare degree of authenticity, the Letelier & Rock Design team scoured Central and South America to purchase and incorporate 18th-Century original architectural artifacts into this superb one-of-a-kind residence.

Furthermore, the design team ensured that the home’s interior and exterior were embellished with a world-class collection of museum-quality fine art and period furniture, selecting only the finest authentic treasures procured from around the globe.

These include:

· 17th-, 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century artwork;
· 17th-, 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century furniture;
· Museum-quality framing, restoration, and installation, carried out by specialized craftsmen in New York and Santiago Chile; and
· Other authentic furnishings, of the highest quality and historic value.

Home Layout
Impeccably designed for a timeless beachfront lifestyle, 27 Calle Cartagena offers direct ocean and sunset views from every room and incorporates social spaces for connection with the ones you hold dear, while still retaining plenty of room to breathe.

The home unfolds over three levels:

Ground Floor
The ground floor features a magnificent entrance with fountains and a terrace promising spectacular ocean views, sunset panoramas, and a soundscape of waves lapping on the sand.

The master suite with vaulted ceiling includes:

· A study, located across from the sleeping area;
· An elegant bathroom with double vanity, digital his-and-hers showers, Jacuzzi, and a room-sized walk-in closet.
· A connecting suite with a full bathroom, for use as a double master bedroom or as a separate suite with a private entrance (from either the main floor or the terrace entrance).

Both luxury master suites can be accessed from the main floor stairway, past an exquisitely furnished study hall. Also located on the ground floor is a private full-size laundry and storage room.

Main Floor
27 Calle Cartagena’s grand outdoor centerpiece is the ocean-view saltwater infinity pool and Jacuzziwith transparent plate glass walls, a full bathroom with shower, and a towel and beach equipment room.

The main floor’s outdoor living area also includes a luxurious powder room and outdoor dining, complete with a Wolf 54-inch outdoor grill and side burner, under-counter icemaker, dual refrigerators and a dishwasher.

Indoors, the main floor opens onto a gourmet chef’s kitchen with a Wolf 60-inch stove and Wolf pro island hood, built-in wine storage, beverage center, full-size subzero side-by-side refrigerator and freezer, dual Bosch dishwashers, dual freezer drawers, and a large pantry.

The kitchen opens to the dining room and leads into the living and entertainment room, all exquisitely decorated. Also on the main floor is a large laundry room with abundant storage cabinets and an additional full-size freezer and a separate ice maker.

Third Floor
The third floor features an outdoor plaza with a fountain.

On this floor, you will also find four extra-large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom:

· Guest room suite with an ocean-view balcony and full bathroom with indoor/outdoor showers; and
· 3 additional ensuite guest rooms with full bathrooms – two with indoor/outdoor showers and one with an indoor shower.

The third floor also offers a storage room, powder room, and full laundry room with maid’s bedroom. There is a separate utility and service entrance located on the third floor.
