The curved seaside walls of the building are solid glass, allowing natural light to flow in flawlessly throughout the day. At Midsummer in June, the sun both rises and sets into the sea.


The interior spaces also flow with the shape of the building, openly connecting with each other. The copper fan-shaped roof frames the villa, whilst inside a masterfully masoned concrete ceiling connects the inside and outside with a stroke of genius. A beautiful larch-wood terrace surrounds the meandering façade, bookended by two large patios - one for sunbathing, the other for outside eating and entertaining.


The interior spaces are completed with pale concrete, but it is the serene nature that dominates the space through the majestic windows. The curved partitioning walls are coated with white-grey polished-waxed stucco. The thick oak floor is perfectly finished without baseboards or thresholds. The buildings have an underfloor geothermal hot water circulation heating system.


The kitchen is by Bulthaup with Gaggenau appliances, the bathrooms are tiled with polished granite and stone and fitted with Alessi fixtures. As with everything in this beautiful villa, the design and choice of materials leave nothing to be desired.


The fully-equipped guest annex and stunning Finnish sauna are independent structures linked to the main villa with patios. There is also an additional multi-use gate-building currently used as a guest house. It could also house a music studio, creative workspace or office.


Designed by award-winning architect Pekka Helin, this masterpiece in granite and glass architecture has featured in numerous publications and gained international recognition since its completion in 2004. The design and construction were guided by the terrain and scenery and the buildings blend respectfully with the landscape.
