Blas House, designed by architect Alberto Campo Baeza, is located in Sevilla la Nueva, a municipality in the Community of Madrid. It is a single-family home conceived with a strong minimalist and rationalist influence, following the principles of clarity, order, and light characteristic of the architect.

Concept and design. The house is based on a pure rectangular volume, with a very geometric and clean distribution. Campo Baeza plays with light and shadow to emphasize the spatiality and purity of the forms.

Distribution and structure. It is organized on two levels: a semi-buried floor destined for bedrooms and private areas, taking advantage of the thermal inertia of the terrain, and an upper floor, a large glass box with a concrete structure, intended for common areas (living room, dining room, and kitchen), with views of the surrounding landscape. The upper floor floats over the lower one, generating a contrast between the solidity of concrete and the lightness of glass.

Materiality and light. Visible concrete is used in the base and structure, while the upper part is resolved with glass, allowing total connection with the exterior. Natural light is a key element, as it floods the interior spaces and reinforces the sense of spaciousness and serenity.

Relationship with the environment. The house is designed to integrate into the landscape without altering the topography. The lower part, being semi-buried, blends in with the ground, while the upper part seems to rise above it.
