The first references to the property date back to the beginning of the 17th century, around 1723.
In the earliest known history, the farm included several corn fields, orchards, vegetable gardens and pine forests. Just over 50 years ago, the manor house was acquired and transformed into one of the most respected wine producing houses and one of the first to invest in the potential of farm wines.

Around 1960, it was the first large farm, along with Palácio da Brejoeira, to introduce green wine to this region, with production, bottling and branding on its own bottles.

Renovation works were carried out on the property's manor and houses, and new vineyards and different varieties were planted in its 23 hours dedicated, solely and exclusively, to wine production.

The Solar das Bouças brand was then launched and quickly became a reference for quality. Today, it is a nationally and internationally awarded wine brand.

Real Estate | The houses in the manor

Let's continue our journey through Solar das Bouças - Art & Wine. The property consists of several buildings. The main building is the Manor, the most noble house. Next door, we find the Santa Ana chapel where we can admire the collection of unpublished works by Cutileiro, such as the sculpture of Jesus Christ.

In this building there are five suites that can be reserved for days of contemplation, rest and transformation. The wine cellar is available for a guided tour, with the most varied bottles of prestigious and rare wines in the world.

There are more buildings, called Casa da Eira and Casa de Montariol, the reception (a work by architect Jean Pierre Porcher), the wine cellar (where the vinification and bottling of the wines produced on the farm takes place, the events hall, warehouse of agricultural equipment and several other buildings capable of various uses (the “old kitchens”, watermill on the Cávado river and others).

Casa da Eira and Casa de Montariol are two country houses, recently restored, capable of being used in rural tourism.
