The beautiful Scandinavian-style timber chalet with self-contained sleepout-studio is located in Wakaretu Bay, a tiny settlement 13 km by road from the historic village of Havelock. With stunning views out to the bay and the bush, you can savour a serene natural environment rich in birdlife, as well as launching your boat or kayak at the bottom of the drive to venture out into the Pelorus Sounds and river. Keen walkers are spoilt for choice with the famous Nydia Track, Te Aroha Trail and lesser-known tracks nearby. The eco-friendly home is sensitively designed for maximum spaciousness and easy living. At its heart are the central open plan kitchen, dining and living areas, a beautiful glowing space featuring high timber ceilings, bamboo flooring, window seat and generous windows and ranch sliders opening on to an extensive deck ideal for entertaining. Each double bedroom, located at opposite ends of the living area, is luxuriously carpeted and looks out to bush through ranch sliders that open on to the elevated deck. One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe; the other is a few steps from the main bathroom which features both bath and shower. This western wing of the house also contains a good-sized storage closet and separate laundry. A separate sleepout-studio (8 x 5m) with its own bathroom and two ranch sliders adjoins the chalet by means of a deck.
