SITUATION

Les Mayens-de-Sion, at an altitude of 1400 m, is located on the southern slope of the Rhone Valley, about 10 minutes from the village of Les Agettes and 25 minutes drive from Sion with its old town, restaurants and shops, and its airport which welcomes private jets.

Since ancient times, the bourgeois families of Sion spend their summer in Mayens-de-Sion. What could be more natural than leaving the heat of the city for the freshness of the forest? All this noble society has organized itself to live a few months a year away from their home; Chapels were built for Sunday religious service, a post office, a grocery store, etc. The Catholic chapel Notre Dame du Bon Conseil, where mass is held during the months of July and August, is about 200 meters from the Domaine de Barlettaz.

Today, life in Mayens-de-Sion is a little different, but its magnificent ancestral buildings give a mysterious and steeped atmosphere of history. The song of the bisse, the quivering of the hundred-year-old larches and the grazed clearings remain a permanent source of enchantment, and contribute to the indefinable charm of the Mayens-de-Sion.
 
In summer you will enjoy wonderful hikes surrounded by nature and, in winter, the famous ski slope of the Bear, about 10 minutes by car, which gives access to the 4 valleys, with 400 km of slopes, to Verbier - a paradise for winter sports. This region also offers spas, renowned wines and a varied local cuisine.

Access to the Domaine de la Barlettaz is via a private forest alley all year round.

The Domaine, more than 4 hectares, includes forests, meadows, a spring with a small pond, the bisse
de Vex on the edge of the property, the main chalet La Barlettaz and a second chalet La Barlettina.

THE BARLETTAZ

This majestic historic chalet, built in 1827, of about 419 m2 on 4 floors, with an imposing square tower, offers superb views of the mountains and countryside, and the forest hides the view of the urbanization in the valley.

Completely renovated in 2016 with high quality materials, natural stone and larch, it offers great comfort and an exceptional atmosphere. The equipment is state-of-the-art technology.
