The palace was built in 1908, according to the plans of architect Sztarill Ferenc, in eclectic style, from the Gerliczy family, hence the name of Gerliczy Palace. The architect was one of the students of the Viennese school of architecture of Gustav Klimt and became the symbol of the Secession style in Oradea. He built the passage Black Eagle, considered by some as the most beautiful in Romania, the building of the Hotel Astoria, but also the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry or the House Darvas - La Roche. Although is located in point 0 of the city in the historic area, the Gerliczy Palace is not included on the list of historical monuments. Gerliczy Palace is located on Republicii Street, ultra central area of the city of Oradea, at about 300 meters from the pedestrian area, the central station being about 100 meters away, at 8 km from the airport and the boulevard on which the building is located has direct access to Borș customs. The palace is located on a plot of 1000 square meters of which the footprint of the building is 500 Square meters, and the inner courtyard is 500 square meters. The inner courtyard has a car access, which in the future can be used for both parking, but also as an indoor garden. The palace is arranged on 5 levels, B+Gf+2F+A, each level having 500 square meters. The first and second levels are currently composed of different size apartments. On the ground floor currently there are apartments and 3 commercial spaces, the basement and attic being undeveloped. The palace was renovated on the outside in 2017, the interior requiring renovation. As a destination it can be converted into a hotel and restaurant, there is also a remodeling project for this purpose, company headquarters, medical center, etc.
