Efforts were made to preserve the original Machiya style structure as well as to modernize the home. Plumbing and electricity were all redone and structures reinforced to Kyoto building standards. All new fire-safety equipment was installed as well. An additional entrance was added in the front of the house to transform this home into a duplex capable unit.
The 2nd and 3rd floor can be separated or combined with the first floor unit via a sliding door, set in the dining room. Each unit has its separate bathroom, kitchen, laundry, and common areas. A luxury Walk-in shower and bath sits on the first floor and overlooks the beautiful custom landscaped garden.
The property has received its Hotel-License allowing it to be one of fewer than 230 4-bedroom homes to be rented on airbnb.
